To clean, dampen a cloth or cotton pad with acetone, wipe the area, and then clean the residue with a damp cloth. Always ensure the area is well-ventilated, wear gloves, and test a small, hidden area first, as acetone can damage certain plastics and finishes.
Ensure good ventilation of the work station. Keep away from heat, hot surfaces, sparks, open flames and other ignition sources. No smoking. Ground/bond container and receiving equipment. Use only non-sparking tools. Take precautionary measures against static discharge. Flammable vapors may accumulate in the container. Use explosion-proof equipment. Wear personal protective equipment. Obtain special instructions before use. Do not handle until all safety precautions have been read and understood. Take all necessary technical measures to avoid or minimize the release of the product in the workplace. Limit quantities of product at the minimum necessary for handling and limit the number of exposed workers. Provide local exhaust or general room ventilation. Store in original container protected from direct sunlight in a dry, cool and well-ventilated area, away from incompatible materials, food and drink. Store locked up. Eliminate all ignition sources. Separate from oxidizing materials. Keep container tightly closed and sealed until ready for use. Containers that have been opened must be carefully resealed and kept upright to prevent leakage. The pressure in sealed containers can increase under the influence of heat. Do not store in unlabeled containers. Use appropriate containment to avoid environmental contamination.
Acetone is a powerful cleaning agent with many uses. Always use caution with Acetone and be sure to follow the Safety Data Sheet instructions. In many instances you may find that Xylene is a more effective cleaner of tools and surfaces, especially when used with a solvent base acrylic sealer.
